Technical description

The MAMMUT press is a hydro-extraction press, available in 40-bar and 50-bar versions.

An indispensable machine for removing residual water from linens as they exit the continuous washer, the performance of this machine inevitably affects the output and turnaround times of all other machines in the production process.

The pressing phase in the MAMMUT press is carried out by a hydraulic/mechanical system that uses a membrane. The membrane ensures that the linens are not stressed while effectively removing the water that has soaked into the fabrics. The linens discharged from the continuous washer pass into the press drum and undergo a dehydration process that reduces their residual moisture content from 60% to 35%. Despite its high efficiency and functionality, the MAMMUT press is fully adaptable to any wash cycle—including extremely short cycles and very delicate items. The powerful hydraulic and control system enables significant savings in the subsequent drying and ironing stages. Water recovery is extremely substantial and allows the water to be channeled back into the wash cycle, thereby reusing it in the earlier stages of the garment cleaning process.

The membrane in the MAMMUT press features a free-rotating membrane plate, which can rotate with each pressing cycle if required, ensuring more uniform and balanced wear of the rubber in contact with the laundry. The membrane plate has undergone a special anti-corrosion chemical treatment that provides exceptional resistance to corrosion and chemicals.

The system for ejecting the pressed laundry is powered by a motorized conveyor belt; the belt’s drive is transmitted by a rubber-coated roller, whose tapered shape ensures perfect centering of the conveyor belt on the roller. The water drainage surface consists of a thick plastic panel with high compressive strength, ensuring long service life and rapid water drainage.

All metal parts in contact with the laundry are made of stainless steel, as is the entire external casing. The drum is moved by load-bearing hydraulic cylinders that do not require guide arms on the columns. The columns are made of 39 NiCrMo3 steel with high tensile strength and are coated with plastic to preserve their integrity.
