Technical description

The MAMMUT Turbo 5.0 press is a hydro-extraction press, available in a 40-bar version.

This machine is essential for removing residual water from linens as they exit the continuous washer: its performance inevitably affects the output and turnaround times of all other machines in the production process.

The pressing phase in the MAMMUT Turbo 5.0 press is carried out via a hydraulic/mechanical system that uses a membrane. The membrane ensures that the laundry is not damaged while effectively removing the water that has soaked into the fabrics. The laundry discharged from the continuous washer passes into the press drum and undergoes a dehydration process that reduces the residual water content from 60% to 35%. The MAMMUT Turbo 5.0 press, with its high efficiency and functionality, is perfectly adaptable to any wash cycle—including extremely short cycles and very delicate garments. The powerful hydraulic and control system enables significant savings in the subsequent drying and ironing stages. Water recovery is extremely significant and allows the water to be channeled back into the wash cycle, thereby reusing it in the earlier stages of the garment cleaning process.

The membrane-holding plate features a special anti-corrosion chemical treatment that provides remarkable resistance to corrosion caused by prolonged contact with water and chemicals. The system for ejecting the pressed laundry consists of a motorized conveyor belt driven by a rubber-coated roller; thanks to its tapered shape, this roller ensures the conveyor belt is perfectly centered on the roller. The water drainage surface consists of a thick plastic panel with high compressive strength, ensuring long service life and rapid water drainage.

All metal parts in contact with the laundry are made of stainless steel and fully enclosed by an external casing. The drum is moved by load-bearing hydraulic cylinders that do not require guide arms on the columns. The columns are made of 39NiCrMo3 steel and coated with plastic to preserve their integrity.
